National Hamburger Day is today, May 28th, and all though it’s a little late on being here in time for the cookout of all cookouts, Memorial Day, it’s never too late to enjoy a juicy burger! Sadly, not much is known about this holiday besides that it is an “unofficial” National holiday because there is no documentation of a president ever proclaiming it a holiday, but REGARDLESS…it’s a great excuse to treat yourself to a burger at your favorite burger joint. By doing this you can be apart of the statistic for burgers served in 2017. In 2016 Nine billion hamburgers were served in American restaurants alone, that’s a little more than one burger per person on Earth. I wonder how many burgers were sold just on National Hamburger Day? McDonald’s alone serves an average of 75 hamburgers per second, totaling up to about 225 million burgers worldwide every year. With all the burgers being sold around you daily there is no excuse, besides if you’re a vegetarian, that you should not be chowing down on a nice tasty burger today. Happy National Hamburger Day!
