A cheesy investigation on this National Cheese Lovers Day of January 2015 found that cheeseburgers can be a driving hazard. In Georgia.
By the way, National Cheeseburger Day is September 18th. By the other way, according to PBS News, Americans average three hamburgers per week. That’s a national total of nearly 50 billion burgers per year.
Is cheese your favorite burger topping? Cheeseburgers are very popular, and very tasty for hamburger lovers. In Georgia, though, they frown on indulging in a cheeseburger while driving. I wonder if that applies to regular hamburgers too.
A Georgia cop saw a driver eating a cheeseburger while in motion. This cop figured that since Cobb County has a distracted driver law, (and I agree that for some people eating can be quite a distraction), he’d issue a ticket for indulging. He’ll have his day in court — scheduled for Feb. 3.
Driver Madison Turner said,
Maybe I was enjoying the burger too much. I needed to tone it down. I didn’t expect to be fined or punished.
Turner’s attorney said he expects the ticket to be canceled because many drivers, himself included, eat and drive. Hmmm, great logical argument you have there, Mr. William Head. Lots of people commit murder too.
Attorney William Head added,
There was no accident here, so the fact that this man was charged with eating and driving is a first for me.
Brilliant!
