The Brickyard

December 27, 2015 by Danny O'Leary Leave a Comment

The Brickyard is a unique Sports Bar heavily influenced by the popularity and proximity of the Daytona Speedway. If you have never had the opportunity to go to the Brickyard in person, it is a memorable, and fun experience. The building itself is the first thing to catch your attention, located a convenient five minutes east of the speedway. It has a tall triangle roof, making it easy to spot from a distance. The location makes the Brickyard a popular location for NASCAR fans, and bikers alike. You could come drink a beer while watching the race, or stop in for a burger after the race!

When I first walked into the Brickyard, I was met with the feeling of happiness. There is NASCAR memorabilia everywhere and the general environment screams race fans! The Brickyard would be the perfect place for anyone interested in NASCAR, and it would even be a great stop for bikers during bike week as well. The Brickyard seems like the go-to place during race season, and should be a priority for anyone who comes into town for the fun Daytona Beach has to offer.

After your meal at the Brickyard, the first thing you will be is satisfied. The service at the Brickyard was fast and on point. Friendly staff welcomed us as soon as we entered and we were allowed to sit wherever we pleased. Inside you have the option to sit at a bar stretched across the length of the restaurant. Or you have the option to sit at a booth, which has been custom decorated with race pictures and items from Daytona’s past. No two boots are the same, ensuring a different environment every time you sit in a new spot.

brickyardThe food itself was fantastic, my Boss and I both ordered bacon cheeseburgers, and we were not disappointed by the decision. The cheeseburger was something out of a movie. Beautifully Displaying image1.jpegDisplaying image1.jpegDisplaying image1.jpegproportioned and loaded with flavor. We were given thick cuts of bacon atop a burger patty that had to be at least 1/4 pound. Crisp iceberg lettuce, fresh cut onions, and cheddar cheese also adored my burger. It was piled high and looked fit for a king. The bun was warm and still had remnants of  flower from baking, hinting at its freshness. Not a word was said for the duration of our meal, other than responding with “delicious” when asked by our waitress how the food was.  With our burgers came thin cut fries, and they were some of the best I have ever had. It is not uncommon for people to order an entire side platter of fries with their meal.

After completing our meal, we were welcomed to hang around, take our time, and enjoy the environment the Brickyard had to offer. It is easy to see how people could spend entire afternoons at the Brickyard during race week. Eating, Drinking, enjoying the comapny of friends, and watching their favorite spectator sports. Whether you are a biker, a NASCAR fan, a tourist, or a Daytona local! The brickyard has something special to offer to everyone, they gave us more than a meal. We left with an experience!
