It’s always been so surprising to me that being a Daytona Beach local, I really haven’t explored some of the most popular locations surrounding my city. If I go out to eat, I usually stay within my
area. But being an employee for Hamburger Harry, I now have a great excuse to check out some new places because those experiences work as an inspiration for me in my work. The other day I visited the Ormond restaurant Riptides for the first time ever and as you can already imagine, I was there on burger business. Walking in, I immediately liked the place because of it’s very laid back and relaxing atmosphere. It is located right by the beach, so you have a variety of different foods to pick from whether they’re from the land or from the ocean. Besides burgers, I personally am a huge fan of Alaskan crab legs, but I always have to remind myself that I must save that hunger for a different time when I am not working. So like always, I browsed through their sandwich section and with a recommendation from my great server, Mike, I ordered a Beach Burger. In the meantime while I waited for my food, I tried some of their oysters and all I have to say is that if you haven’t tried them already, you need to immediately! After the oysters, my anticipation for my burger highly increased as I could already smell it being cooked in the kitchen. Moments later, I could see it being carried out and on it’s way to me and I thought, “Wow, this must be how a mother feels when she sees her newborn baby being brought to her.” But this was different….because this was a cheeseburger….and I was about to devour it. The first bite was incredible. Cooked to perfection, with absolutely no pink on the inside just how I like it. The buns tasted very fresh, and were so warm and soft. The seasoned fries were just the right amount of crispy, and were just as delicious as the burger. I would highly recommend visiting this place if you haven’t already and take my word for it, their burgers are delicious. But if you were wanting to try something else in the seafood section, their menu offers anything from all you can eat crabs legs to jumbo shrimp, oysters, and mahi mahi. Their staff is very welcoming and incredibly polite, and would be more than happy to recommend something if you can’t decide on what to choose.
