Did you know that today is National Cheese Lovers Day? I wonder if this was started by cheeseheads in Wisconsin.

Apparently cheese day is kind of a big deal. There are celebrations that involve parties and costumes. Maybe even cheese.
According to the Center for Science in the Public Interest, Americans eat 23 pounds of cheese each, per year.
BTW, there’s also a National Cheese Day on June 4th. I guess the difference is that on that day they’re not cheese lovers, just appreciaters. The word "lovers" is not in the title of the June 4th event. Food.com FAIL! They didn’t check with the world calendar of daily events before proclaiming June 4th to be cheese day. According to Food.com, "Everyday is a food day." bonappetit.com says food days don’t matter. Try telling that to a cheesehead.
The Facebook page called National Cheese Day has posts by different people stating the day to celebrate is today, and June 4th. Okay, maybe cheese does more than, um, bind you up. Maybe it clouds your mind too. Cheese lovers cannot decide which day to proclaim.
What really matters is National Cheeseburger Day which may or may not be on Sept. 18. Some restaurants recognize this day with freebies and deals. It’s on the NationalDayCalendar. I read it on the Internet, so it must be true. Mark your calendar; you have 8 months to prepare for it.
Watch out though. Cheese on your burger can get you a cheeseburger traffic ticket!
