Best Burgers in America

December 11, 2015 by Danny O'Leary Leave a Comment

Looking at the amount of burger restaurants there are in our country, it is hard to decide on which restaurants really excel our wants and desires. But the people have voted and we have finally been able to name which restaurants really are the best in America. So if you plan on doing a little traveling soon, you might want to take note of these places and see for yourself if they really are the best burgers around!

Bill’s Burger, Becks Prime (Houston, Texas)

In Houston, Texas there are 12 locations of Beck’s Prime, and there are also two more located in Dallas. The most interesting thing about what all of these locations have in common is that not one of them has a freezer! Founded in 1985, Beck’s Prime has become a beloved establishment, serving half-pound Angus chuck burgers that are hand-ground and formed on-site daily. While they offer your usual variety of cheeses and toppings, the Bill’s Burger is surely what the locals will recommend. With sautéed onions, sliced Cheddar, bacon, jalapeños, secret sauce, and lettuce, it’s not a mystery as to why this burger is one of the best.

Le Pigeon Burger, Le Pigeon (Portland, Oregon)

In 2006, a man named Gabriel Rucker first opened his restaurant named “Le Pigeon“. In the beginning, he would only serve five of these Pigeon burgers per night! Today, thankfully, the burger can be purchased at all times, and also at Rucker’s downtown bistro “Little Bird”. This burger has a place on this list because of it’s thick square patty of beef (that is brought from a local farm) and is seasoned with salt and pepper, grilled, then topped with sharp Tillamook white Cheddar, an iceberg lettuce slaw, thick slices of grilled pickled onions, mayo, mustard, and housemade ketchup, all piled on top of a ciabatta bun. If you find yourself roaming around in Portland, the locals suggest you take a trip on over to Rucker’s!

JCB Jalapeño Cream Burger, My Brother’s Bar (Denver)

Having been in business for more than 40 years, this old-fashioned-styled bar has truly made a name for itself. This restaurant is known for their famous JCB burger and though it is just a regular sized patty, what’s inside of it is what is currently the talk of the town. Inside this juicy burger you can find the combination of cream cheese and sliced pickled jalapeños, and even though at first this may not exactly seem like the best combination, those who have tried it think of it as one of the best they’ve ever had!

Superburger, Jim-Denny’s (Sacramento, California)

This vintage 10-seat diner known as Jim-Denny’s has been serving classic, old-style burgers to everyone from your everyday city folk, to farm workers, to politicians since the mid-1930’s. But there is one burger they’ve got cookin’ that is what keeps the public wanting more. It is known as the “Superburger”. This bready, no-frills bun encloses a griddled patty, well-done but still a little juicy, dressed with mustard and mayo and layered with the usual tomato and lettuce. This burger may not be classified as “extreme” by the outside appearance….but the taste of it is what it’s all about.
