1/4 # Bacon Cheeseburger (with added onion ring)
Wayne’s burgers are served with “a heap of butter on a Sheboygan* Hard Roll” and all “1/4 # patties are 100% Black Angus Choice Chuck Ground Steak“.
It was close to lunchtime as I was on my way to rephotograph the “Last Covered Bridge” historical markers at Covered Bridge Park. I was in the mood for a Wisconsin drive-in burger, but had no idea where to find one when suddenly, there in front of me, like an oasis in the Sahara, were the distinct signs of a local burger joint — a small vintage building with bright colors and a retro sign — Wayne’s!
Wayne’s menu is typical drive-in fare — comfort food to the max. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger (with raw onions and no pickles), onion rings, and a kid’s burger (without the bun) for my pup, Dexter. Everything was delicious!
NOTE: Make it a picnic! A couple of miles from Wayne’s is Covered Bridge Park, a gorgeous location with two historical markers honoring Wisconsin’s “Last Covered Bridge”, where you can enjoy your Wayne’s meal on the groomed, grassy banks of gurgling Cedar Creek and then explore the park.
Wayne’s Drive-In is located in the center of the V-intersection of Covered Bridge Road and Washington Avenue, just north of Wisconsin Highway 60, at 1331 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg, Wisconsin 53012.

I wouldn’t call this “vintage” since it opened in 1998.
