In this episode of Man Versus Food, Adam and a carefully selected team took on Mallie’s 190 pound World Record Hamburger. That’s absolutely ridiculous. In fact, The Absolutely Ridiculous Burger is its name.
The TV challenge (video below) was for a 40 person team to munch this World Record Hamburger that Adam amicably dubbed "Meat Monolith" in 2 hours.
That’s why Mallie’s Bar & Grill in Southgate, MI has been "Home of World’s Largest Burger" multiple times (by beating their own record). There’s actually a 10 pound monster burger on their regular menu. That sounds painful!
World Record Hamburger Making
How long would it take to make (build) a World Record Hamburger this size? Well, it took Mallie’s three man crew over a day to make. A crane is almost necessary to put on the top bun. Beginning with the cooking of 210 pounds of ground beef in a specially designed 30 inch drum for 16 hours. Add to that, 10 pounds of assorted cheeses, and 15 pounds of mixed vegies, and 4 pounds of bacon, and 3 heads of lettuce.
